Rather than private dining in a local hotel, we provided Sentinel Marine with a memorable and historic venue to help the celebrations to mark the christening of their latest vessel in the fleet – Mariner Sentinel.
Following a somewhat wet and windy harbourside ceremony where ship’s godmother Line Kaldestad upheld centuries of naval tradition by christening the vessel with a bottle of champagne, 36 guests dined in the splendour of The Society of Advocates Library.
The venue provided an impressively grand yet intimate setting for the celebrations which saw guests from around the globe dine on Scottish fayre including salmon, beef, haggis … and sticky toffee pudding.
We also sourced a suitable nautical gift in the form of a brass sundial and compass; presented in a box marking the date and place of the christening; a fitting gift with a nod to the maritime links of many of the guests.
Mix in some digital and print media relations and the Mariner Sentinel had a great send off - all captured with some excellent imagery throughout the day and as the ship sailed from Aberdeen.
